Annual Business Meeting

Our annual business meeting will be held Wednesday, January 11th at the Yakima Colleges’ Conference Center, on the corner of 16th Ave and Nob Hill starting with registration at 6:30 pm. We have a very busy evening planned with a lot on our agenda. After the welcome and approval of minutes from last year’s annual meeting we will start with a report from the membership committee, followed by a summary of the financials for 2022. We will then give a brief review of the events and tastings from last year with plenty of opportunity for feedback on what you thought about the events. The social media committee will then report on their activities from 2022 and Cheyenne Needham, who does our newsletter, Facebook, and Instagram, will report on how we are doing in the social media world.

We will then look at what is ahead in 2023 with a brief overview of what we have planned so far for this coming year. Again, we plan to have plenty of time to hear your comments or recommendations. We will also have representatives from some of the colleges that we provide with scholarship funds. Hopefully some of the students that were recipients of our scholarships will speak to us about their career plans and objectives.

Lastly, we will introduce the potential new candidates for your YES board and present the slate of board members for 2023, followed by a vote for approval.

During the evening’s program we will break for our potluck style dinner. As in previous years, we are asking that everyone bring their favorite potluck dish to share with the group, either a main dish, side dish, appetizer, or dessert. The cost for this meeting will be $10 per person as we have to pay YVC for rent on their conference room. Please bring your own wine glass for the evening. If you have a favorite wine, you would like to share, that would also be welcome.
