Alberino & Tapas

Our first tasting for 2023 will focus on a white wine, fairly new to the U.S., Alberino. This wine had its origin in the Iberian area of Europe. The tasting will be led by Eric Degerman, President, and CEO of Great Northwest Wines, the magazine that is the sponsor of the Platinum judging. Eric is also a leading authority on the wines of the Pacific Northwest. He will lead a presentation on the origin and history of this wine varietal. We will be pouring Alberino wines from six different wineries including ones from Idaho, Oregon, and The Yakima Valley. We will also have guests from some of the selected wineries to discuss their wines in more depth. Accompanying the wines, we will be treated to Spanish style Tapas plates. As an added plus to the event, “Great Northwest Wines”, will be offering to all those in attendance, a subscription to their magazine at 50% off regular subscription rates.

The event will start at 6:30 with registration and a greeting wine. The presentation will start at 7:00 and will be held at the Yakima Valley College’s Convention Center on 16th and Nob Hill. The cost is $50 per person for members and $60 for non-members. Reservations can be made on our website or at Stems Wine Shop. The deadline for reservations is Monday, February 6th. Please bring one wine glass with you to the tasting.

I think Alberino wines are some of the best whites currently produced in the Pacific Northwest. Hopefully you will agree. This will be a wine event not to be missed.
