Platinum VIII The featured award winning wines for the evening were selected from the top winners at the Wine Press Northwest's Platinum Judging held in Kennewick November, 2009. The 2009 judging had the largest number of entries to date. Of the 450 wines judged, only 16 wines were awarded Double Platinum. We will be serving eleven of them at our event. The remaining nine selected wines were Platinum winners. All the wines judged at the Platinum Judging had to be a previous gold medal winner from a list of sanctioned competitions. A Double Platinum is awarded only when all judges agree that the wine is a winner. Without a doubt these are the best of the best wines from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. This year we will again enjoy the beautiful, elegant facility and service by the wonderful staff at the Yakima Country Club. We were dazzled to see the menu being planned by General Manager Rene' Groeger and Executive Chef Greg Masset. The appetizers followed by six food courses will bring out every nuance in the wines. It will be a night to remember! Seating is limited to 140. Paid registration will be confirmed by phone or email. Cost is $140 per person. Early bird registration postmarked or purchased online by March 1st is $125. There are also winemaker’s tables available at a cost of $150. We will also have a silent auction and a brief live auction that will allow you to purchase these Platinum award winners. Proceeds from this event go to the Wine Program at Yakima Valley Community College. Please bring cash or checks. Due to the cost involved credit cards cannot be accepted at the event.
